Spring Soccer

"The Spring Soccer program in Lavington will continue! Julie Kentel and Bronwyn Watson have stepped forward, taking over from Kym, to ensure that this great program continues for our children to enjoy. Kym and all the other volunteers have done a wonderful job looking after this program for our kids for years now. Julie and Bronwyn hope to continue to do the same. At this point the ladies are just getting the ball rolling for this year's program. All the details are not ironed out quite yet but the schedule and set-up should be similar to last year. Watch for registration details to come!"

The North Okanagan Valley Gleaners

plant at 973 Whitevale Road (across from the Duteau Creek Water site) continues to dehydrate vegetables to make dehydrated soup mix on a daily basis throughout the winter months.  This nutritious soup mix goes to areas of the world where the need is great.  The vegetables are donated from local area growers that would otherwise go to waste.  Volunteers are key to the day to day operation and many of our volunteers are seniors.  If you are looking for something to do, come and join us in this worthwhile venture and volunteer a few hours.  It's fun and casual and you'll meet some interesting people.  No notice needs to be given.  Just drop in and ask for Harold, Plant Manager.  The plant is open to volunteers, Monday to Friday, from 8 a.m. until noon.  Special groups can be organized to work on a Saturday.  For further information call 250-558-5872.
